Lucky Ron, a legend in Ottawa, has been performing his show for over 30 years in Ottawa. He started playing at the Laff in 1999, and has never missed a Saturday show. (Well almost... In July 2019, he got held up at the airport in Winnipeg on his way home, and missed his first Saturday ever. As much as it was a bummer for the crowd that day to miss seeing him, we invited another well-known Ottawa performer, Slow Tom, to fill in for him at the last minute. Slow Tom was awesome and entertained the crowd all afternoon. Hopefully it makes for a great original song for Lucky Ron one day!)

If you want a table at the show, you have to get here early as his followers never miss a show. The regulars (or irregulars) also know all the words, actions, and call outs, not unlike the Rocky Horror Picture Show, so stick with them if you wanna fit in and have the most fun.  It’s definitely something to see, and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

As a special treat, every year on the 1st of February, Lucky Ron performs his Anniversary Show no matter what day of the week that happens to be. He began performing at the Downstairs Club as Lucky Ron on February 1st, 1986, taking over the show from Lucky Jim.
